Do you have a great student employee working for you?

Nominations for the University of Chester’s Student Employee of The Year (SEOTY) are now open. The awards, organised by the National Association of Student Employment Services (NASES), aim to recognise and promote the outstanding contributions and achievements of students, who combine part-time work with their academic commitments.

The SEOTY awards are part of a national competition and winners will have the opportunity to qualify for regional, then national stages.

Companies who employ University of Chester students are encouraged to get involved with nominations and there are three awards for which student employees can be nominated:

Step up to Leadership - This award recognises students, who have demonstrated leadership skills, taking responsibility for projects or supervising staff, for example. Perhaps they have been working with you for a while and have been promoted, provide training, and can demonstrate initiative, accountability and creative thinking.

Above and Beyond - This award recognises an outstanding student, making a huge impact working with you, going above and beyond on a regular basis.

Commercial Awareness - This award recognises a student, who has made a substantial commercial impact to the business. This student will have increased profit, generated new business, developed an enterprising idea, spotted new opportunities, engaged with new audiences or introduced a money saving scheme.

If you recruit students from the University of Chester, this is a great opportunity to reward them for all their hard work.
