The University of Chester is proud to host the next annual Cathedrals Group conference, culminating in the Choirs Festival to be held in Chester Cathedral on Saturday, February 28 at 7.30pm.

Coinciding with the University’s 175th Anniversary, this collaborative performance is sure to be an inspiring event. The Festival brings together 12 different choirs from Cathedrals Group institutions alongside their music directors.

The evening performance will feature selected pieces from individual choirs, with around 300 voices coming together to perform Handel's rousing Zadok the Priest and Haydn's Maria Theresa Mass in B Major  for choir, soloists and orchestra. Both of these are joyous compositions appropriate for the 175th Anniversary celebration and will be conducted by Vicki Bulgin, Director of Music at the University. The pieces chosen by each university show pleasant variety between both classical and contemporary, creating the opportunity for a unique and enjoyable evening.

The event will be an excellent representation of University values and community engagement, with a program to please music lovers of all generations. You’re very welcome to join us at this exciting performance!

Tickets cost £10 for adults, £7 for children and concessions and are available from the Chester Cathedral Box Office. Telephone 01244 500959 or book online.
