Some of the 1975 group who came back to Chester for a special 40 year reunion, at the weekend.

Over 180 alumni joined us in some capacity at the weekend, for this year’s alumni reunion. It was great to welcome everyone back to the Parkgate Road Campus, seeing some familiar faces and meeting some new ones too.

Special mini reunions took place for 44, 1965 starters and over 60, 1975 leavers. Each group held their own private functions, in the Students’ Union bar and in White’s Dining room on Campus. Lots of fantastic photographs and memories from bygone days were shared, while new ones were made.

Many other year groups, most of whom were regular reunion attendees, joined in the festivities too and enjoyed catching up with friends whom they hadn’t seen for some time.

Saturday offered everyone a chance to find out about the latest goings on in the alumni office and the University as a whole, during the UCAA’s Annual General Meeting. The afternoon was free leisure time and saw many people enjoying a wander into the city, chilling in a coffee shop or enjoying a walking tour around Campus or the new Thornton site.

The final fundraise for the stained glass window took place in the form of a raffle. We are so pleased to announce that we not only met, but slightly exceeded our target of £10,000.

Thanks to everyone who donated towards the appeal and a huge thanks to everyone who attended the reunion this year. Look out for the photo album which will be added to the Gallery, over the next few weeks to see if you can spot anyone you know!

If you have any ideas on how the reunion format could be improved, or would like the alumni office’s assistance to put your own mini reunion together, please get in touch with us: or telephone 01244 511078.
