1839 Chester Diocesan Training College for Teachers was founded
1844 Work begins on the Chapel
1900 Practising School open on the campus (Beswick Building) 
1921 Chester College affiliated to the University of Liverpool
1953/4 Fisher and Astbury completed and opened
1961 First female students were admitted to the College
1965 First Royal visit by Princess Margaret
1973 University of Liverpool agree to validate degrees
1989 150th celebrations - commission of stained glass window in the Chapel
2003 Granted ability to award taught degrees, became University College Chester
2005 Granted University status, becoming the University of Chester
2006 Inauguration of the Warrington Campus as part of the University of Chester
2007 Kingsway open to students and University is given Research Degree Awarding powers
2010 Riverside campus opened
2011 Queen visits the Warrington campus
2014 Thornton Science Park accepts its first cohort of students undertaking Science and Engineering qualifications
